Oladipo was born in Ifewara, Nigeria and practices as a consultant clinical microbiologist at the Obafemi Awolowo University teaching hospitals complex and a senior lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, both in Ile-Ife, southwest Nigeria.
Oladipo is Principle Investigator in the project ‘Antibiotic stewardship at the Obafemi Awolowo University teaching hospitals complex’ and has initiated the measurement of antimicrobial use and resistance in his hospital.

Sam was born in Kericho, Kenya and works as a Chief Research Officer in Kenya Medical Research Institute.
For the last 15 years Sam has been engaged in work on surveillance and monitoring antimicrobial resistance among key Gram negative pathogens, and also using various molecular tools to understand the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistant infections.

Marie-France was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (RDC) and is training as a Clinical Microbiologist at the University Hospital of Kinshasa.
Marie-France is involved in a network for the surveillance of bacteraemia, and the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and will shortly embark on a study looking at the microbiological aspects of meningitis in RDC.

Yilkal was born in Gojam, Ethiopia and is a veterinarian by profession and is currently Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Addis Ababa University.
Yilkal is involved in research investigating the epidemiology and treatment of infectious diseases in livestock as well as antimicrobial use and resistance in livestock infectious diseases in Ethiopia.
