Dr. David Livermore

The award is for an outstanding researcher in the field of infectious Diseases, Clinical Microbiology, and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy who has made significant contributions to collaborative work in Taiwan.
This year’s winner is Dr. David Livermore, Director of the Antibiotic Resistance Monitoring Reference Laboratory (ARMRL), HPA Centre for Infections, London.

This award has been sponsored by the Taiwan Society of Microbiology in memory of Professor Chi-Zhong Yen (1888-1974). In addition to Professor Yen's extensive experience in the prevention of infectious diseases and in medical education, he gathered together experts in the fields of medicine, agriculture, science and industry and founded the Chinese Society of Microbiology.
