Name badges and congress bags including the Final Programme, vouchers, etc., can be picked up at the registration desk by all registered participants during the following opening hours:

The registration fee for participants includes a congress bag, Final Programme, admission to all ECCMID/ICC congress activities, Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception. (Please note that some activities require additional separate registration.) The registration fee for accompanying persons includes admission to the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Reception and access to the industrial exhibition.


The participant acknowledges that he/she has no right to lodge damage claims against the organisers should the holding of the congress be hindered or prevented by unexpected political or economic events or by force majeure, or should the non-appearance of speakers or other reasons necessitate programme changes. With registration, the participant accepts this proviso.

Online registration

Participants are given the opportunity to register for the congress and social events online. Please follow the instructions carefully. Alternatively please return the enclosed registration form together with your payment until 13 January 2011 (reduced registration fee).

What is included?

The registration fee for participants includes admission to all parts of the congress, congress bag, Final Programme, Abstract and Poster CD, free public transportation tickets, Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception. The registration fee for accompanying persons includes the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception as well as access to the industrial exhibition.

On-site registration

The registration desk at the Milano Convention Centre will be open during the following hours:

On-site registrations will be accepted but receipt of all congress documents cannot be guaranteed. Please arrive early if you wish to register on-site.

Payment of fees

All fees for congress registration and social events should be paid in Euro (€) to the Administrative Secretariat of the 21st ECCMID / 27th ICC, clearly stating the participant’s name and address. Payment can be effected either by bank transfer (free of charge) to UBS AG, Basel, Account No. 233-503010.84Z (Congrex Switzerland Ltd., ECCMID-ICC 2011) (IBAN CH86 0023 3233 5030 1084Z, BIC UBSWCHZH80A), by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) or by bank cheque.

Online Payment

If you have received an invoice by postal mail, you can settle the open amount with your credit card through the following link by indicating the invoice and Id numbers which are stated on the right hand side of your invoice. Please click here to proceed to the Online Payment.


Upon receipt of the correct registration fee, each participant will receive a confirmation of registration. Please bring this confirmation to the registration desk at the conference centre as proof of your registration.

Cancellation and refund policy

Refund of registration fees, less 25% administrative charges, can be applied for in writing until 24 March 2011 to the Administrative Secretariat in Basel, Switzerland. After this date no refund will be possible. For any change of names, a fee of € 30 will be charged. On-site changes of name badges due to incorrect submission of names and/or address data will be charged € 10.

Group registration

In order to make a group registration please request the special group registration form. On this form you can enter all participants’ information together with your postal address and contact details. Please note that we need the complete individual addresses (hospital, department, street name and number, postal code, city, country) of each participant.

ECCMID-ICC Travel Grants 2011

sponsored by ESCMID and ISC

ESCMID and ISC will support up to 100 young scientists, who wish to attend the 21st ECCMID / 27th ICC in Milan, with a travel grant and/or free registration. A full travel grant will include full registration to the congress and a travel allowance for the amount of € 500 (paid in cash onsite). A certain number of grants include free congress registration only.

Travel grants and free registrations are both conditional upon the acceptance of an abstract. For multiple-authored abstracts only the presenting author may apply for a travel grant.


The age limit for applicants is 40 years (born in 1971 or later). Applications for an ECCMID-ICC travel grant may be submitted only after submission of an abstract via the 21st ECCMID / 27th ICC website.

To file your application:
Submit your abstract first. Then fill in the online application form at You will need to enter your abstract title and abstract number you received upon submission.

Abstract submissions and travel grant applications must be submitted electronically through the congress and ESCMID websites.

Applications must be received online by 22 December 2010. Successful applicants will be notified by the beginning of March 2011.
